Its action prevents the total digestion of complex carbohydrates, which is achieved by accelerating the gastric vacuum or increasing the absorption of glucose by the tissues of the body.

One of the theories suggests that this product has the ability to inhibit the activity of some digestive enzymes that break down carbohydrates into sugar. This at the same time slows down its conversion process into glucose in the blood.

The body then takes longer to metabolize sugar in the blood, which prevents levels from rising to dangerous levels.
